How long is a session?
Sessions usually last about 1 hour. Some practitioners will offer 30 minute sessions all the way up to 2 hours. It depends on what the practitioners preferences are. Personally my sessions are about an hour long 45 minutes for the reiki session and then about 15 minutes discussing what both the client and myself experienced.
What do I wear during sessions?
During a Reiki session you are fully clothed. I usually encourage my clients to wear something comfortable for the sessions. Mainly because the sessions are usually about relaxation and I personally find it hard to relax in jeans. Though you are able to wear what ever you would like so long as you are fully clothed.
How many sessions do I need?
Each person is different so the amount they need is also different. Some people are fine after one session and others may need some extras to find a deeper sense of peace. I usually go off what the client is feeling and ask that they be honest with themselves about what they need.
How often do I need sessions?
As I said before each person is different so the frequency of sessions is also different. Some people would like to have a session every 2 weeks as a tune up and others are good with once a year. I usually ask my clients to try every 2 weeks at first, from there we can gauge if they need more or less time in between.
How does it feel?
People who have had Reiki sessions have said that they feel warmth, cold, and tingling sensations during the session. Most people feel a deep sense of relaxation and a deepening sense of peace and calming during and after the sessions. Some people have noted that they feel like they are floating or floating outside of their bodies which are all normal occurrences during a session. After a session people feel calm, relaxed and have a much more solid positive outlook.
